MARCO ARENA - TANZ

Marco Arena, born in Anzio, Italy, began his dancing training at the Opera House in Rome, where he graduated. At the beginning of his professional ballet career, he joined the Ballet Nice Méditerranée where he performed in works by Nacho Duato, Jirí Kylián, Alvin Ailey, and Dwight Rhoden. In 2015, he became a member of the Bayerisches Staatsballet under the direction of Ivan Liška. In 2017, he was offered a position at the Staatsballet Berlin, under the direction of Nacho Duato. In Berlin, Marco danced in a multitude of works, including ballets by William Forsythe, David Dawson, Marco Goecke, Alexander Ekman, Marcia Haydée, and Victor Ullate. Marco joined Richard Siegal/Ballet of Difference in 2023.
MARTINA CHAVEZ – TANZ

Martina Chavez, born in San Antonio, Texas, began her dance training at the age of nine with Buddy and Susan Treviño and at the Maryland Youth Ballet. At the start of her professional dancing career, she first completed a traineeship at the Washington Ballet. After joining the Oregon Ballet Theatre in 2006, she became a permanent member of the company the following year and was appointed soloist in 2014. In 2018, Martina joined the Victor Ullate Ballet in Madrid and is a company member with Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference as of 2020.

MARGARIDA DE ABREU NETO – TANZ

Born in Portugal in 1996, Margarida Isabel De Abreu Neto began her training at the Lisbon Dance Conservatory and then graduated from the Tanz Akademie Zürich in 2015 thanks to a scholarship she received after successfully making it to the semi-finals of the Youth America Grand Prix. At the beginning of the 2015/2016 season, she was offered an engagement with the Junior Company of the Bavarian State Ballet, where she worked among other choreographers with Maria Barrios, Dustin Klein and Davide Bombana. In April 2017, she joined Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference and worked on several productions including ROUGHHOUSE at Schauspiel Köln. As a guest dancer, she was also involved in the virtual reality project DAS TOTALE TANZTHEATER 360 (cooperation with ARTE/ZDF), which was presented at the Bauhaus Anniversary at Akademie der Künste, Berlin and in the production O, AUGENBLICK (directed by Tobias Staab) at the Schauspielhaus Bochum, Germany.

LIVIA GIL – TANZ

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Livia Gil began her nine years of ballet education at the Escola Estudal de Dança at the Theatre Municipal of Rio de Janeiro with Maria Olenewa. After her successful participation at the Prix de Lausanne in 2012, she was offered a scholarship to train with the English National Ballet School in London, where she graduated in 2014. After graduating, Livia moved to Germany where she was engaged at the Leipzig Ballet, the Ballet Augsburg and the Hessian State Ballet. Her repertoire includes works by Wayne McGregor, Alexander Ekman, Ohad Naharin, Jeroen Verbruggen, Uwe Scholz, Tim Plegge, Mario Schröder, Alejandro Cerrudo, Kerry Nicholls, George Balanchine and many more. From January 2020 on, she is a dancer with Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln.

GUSTAVO GOMES – TANZ (Gast - NOISE SIGNAL SILENCE)

Gustavo is a performer, choreographer and visual artist based in Cologne, Germany. In 2007 was awarded a Gold Medal at the Brasília International Dance Seminar 2007 and the distinct Grant from the Brazilian Ministry of Culture for cultural contributions. He has been part of dance companies such as Stadttheater Osnabrueck - Nanine Linning (2010-2012), Stadttheater Osnabrück - Mauro di Candia (2012-2014), Staatstheater Braunschweig- Jan Pusch (2014-2015), Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company- Jacopo Godani (2015-2019) and guest artist for Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln in 2019. He has been working and performing pieces by choreographers and visual artists such as William Forsythe, Jacopo Godani, Richard Siegal, Roy Assaf, Marie Chouinard, Rafael Bonachela, Shang-Chi Sun, and others. Also choreographing and creating pieces in Germany and abroad his really interested in the visual arts and performance for the camera. Gustavo joined Richard Siegal/ Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln in October, 2021.

Seine künstlerische Arbeit besteht darüber hinaus im Kreieren eigener Choreographien und Performances in und außerhalb von Deutschland in denen sein großes Interesse an bildender Kunst Oktober, 2021 ist er festes Mitglied der Kompanie Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference am Schauspiel Köln.
KARIN HONDA – TANZ

Karin received a scholarship to attend the Staatlich Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim in 2013 and finished her Bachelor and Master of Arts. During her Master's degree, she worked as an apprentice at the Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe.
In 2015 she joined the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin and guested at Landestheater Coburg in 2016.
Since the 2017/2018 season, she has been a member of the Landestheater Eisenach.
This is Karin’s second season with Richard Siegal /

Born in Monza, Italy. Roberta started her professional education at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, in Milan, and graduated with a dance bachelor from the Tanz Akademie Zürich. In the following years Roberta danced for Ballet Dortmund, Ballet Hagen, Jas Art Ballet, Eko Dance Project under the direction of Pompea Santoro and for five years was part of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company under the direction of Jacopo Godani.As a professional dancer Roberta had the opportunity to dance works from Vasiliev, Balanchine, Lacotte, Petipa, Birgit Scherzer, Matjash Mrozewski, Kinsun Chan, Massimiliano Volpini, Diego Tortelli, Mauro De Candia, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Marco Goecke, Jacopo Godani. Since August 2023 Roberta is part of Ballet of Difference under the direction of Richard Siegel.

Pier-Loup Lacour is a Montreal born dancer who studied at l'École supérieure de ballet du Québec.
Upon his graduation, he danced with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal and the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.
He has had the pleasure of performing works around the world, by various renowned choreographers such as: George Balanchine, Mats Ek, Andonis Foniadakis, Marco Goecke, Ina Christel Johannessen, Ioannis Mandafounis, Christian Spuck, Stephan Thoss and Christopher Wheeldon, to name only a few.
In 2019, he performed in two productions from Le Cirque du Soleil, “Rebel” in Andorra and “Vitori” in Malta. He also had the great privilege of re-staging work for Andonis Foniadakis at the Staatstheater Hannover. This is his second season with Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference am Schauspiel Köln.

Sean Lammer is an American dancer, choreographer, and teacher. He began training seriously at age 13 while in attendance at The Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet under the direction of John White and Margarita De Saá. Sean is an alumnus of Walnut Hill School for the Arts (’15) and The Juilliard School (’19) and, throughout the course of his education, has had the good fortune of dancing the work of Merce Cunningham, Nacho Duato, Roy Assaf, Twyla Tharp, Ohad Naharin, Martha Graham, José Limón, and Stephanie Batten Bland. Sean spent the years of 2019-2021 freelancing professionally in and around New York City, working and collaborating with a breadth of artists and companies including GALLIM, Helen Simoneau Danse, MADBOOTS, Madeline Hollander, David Michelak and Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison. As of August 2021, Sean is a member of the Richard Siegal Company / Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln.

NICOLÁS MARTINEZ – TANZ

Nicolás Martínez is a Uruguayan born dancer who developed his talent for both music and dance from an early age. At the age of 10, he started studying music and also took some dance lessons. Two years later, he began to devote himself entirely to this discipline, trained himself in a wide range of dance styles and participated in competitions, where he won several prizes. At the age of 18, he began his training as a ballet dancer at the National School of Dance in Uruguay. In 2017, he was engaged to dance at the National Ballet of Uruguay under the direction of Julio Bocca and danced in ballets such as RUSSIAN HAMLET, CHACONA, THE MERRY WIDOW, DON QUIJOTE, ONEGIN. From January 2020 on, Nicolás is engaged as a dancer with the Richard Siegal Company / Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln.
Nicolás Martínez ist ein in Uruguay geborener Tänzer und Performer, dessen Interesse und Talent für Musik und Tanz entwickelt sich schon in jungen Jahren. Im Alter von 10 Jahren begann er ein Musikstudium und besuchte auch einige Tanzstunden. Zwei Jahre später widmete er sich schließlich ganz dieser Disziplin, bildete sich in vielzähligen Tanzstilen aus und nahm an Wettbewerben teil, bei denen er vielzählige Preise gewann. Mit 18 Jahren begann er seine Ausbildung zum Balletttänzer an der Nationalen Tanzschule in Uruguay. Im Jahr 2017 erhielt er ein Engagement am Nationalballett von Uruguay unter der Leitung von Julio Bocca und war bis 2019 in Stücken wie RUSSIAN HAMLET, CHACONA, THE MERRY WIDOW, DON QUIJOTE, ONEGIN und anderen zu sehen. Seit Januar 2020 ist Nicolás als Tänzer der Kompanie Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference am Schauspiel Köln engagiert.

Born in Turin, Italy, Benedetta Musso completed her dance education at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow in 2018. The same year she joined the Bavarian Junior Ballet München under the direction of Ivan Liska where she performed works by Jiří Kylián, Hans van Manen, Christopher Wheeldon ,George Balanchine, Eric Gauthier, Jörg Mannes, Terence Kohler , Martina La Ragione among others. In season 2021/22 she joined the Aalto Ballet Essen. This is Benedetta’s second season as an ensemble member with Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference am Schauspiel Köln.

Samuele Ninci was born in Florence, Italy. He trained at the Ballet School of La Scala in Milan, where he participated in the company's productions on the stage of La Scala di Milano. Afterwards, he was engaged by the Ballet Opéra de Bordeaux and the Royal Swedish Ballet. There he danced soloist roles in the classical repertoire as well as in works by choreographers such as William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Jirí Kylián, Alexander Ekman, Lukas Timulak, Richard Wherlock and many others.

EOIN ROBINSON - TANZ

Eoin Robinson is an American dancer who began his dance training in Massachusetts at the age of 11. At the age of 14, Eoin entered Interlochen Arts Academy where he graduated in 2013, a year early, with academic and artistic honors. In 2013, Eoin competed in the Youth America Grand Prix Chicago Semi-Finals and received a gold medal in the classical category and a silver medal in the contemporary category. He was a Finalist in New York City and spent the 2013-2014 school year training at the American Ballet Theatre’s JKO School on scholarship. Eoin is the 2016 recipient of the Lorna Strassler Award for Student Excellence at The School at Jacob’s Pillow, where he attended the Ballet Program in summer 2014 and the Contemporary Program in summer 2016. In the fall of 2014, Eoin began his freshman year at The Juilliard School studying under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes in pursuit of a career in contemporary ballet and modern dance where he performed the works of Merce Cunningham, Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato, Jerome Robbins, Azure Barton, José Limón, and Pam Tanowitz. After graduating from The Juilliard School in 2018, Eoin joined The Staatsballett Berlin to begin his professional dance career where he performed the works of Mats Ek, Sharon Eyal, William Forsythe, Pina Bausch, George Balanchine, John Cranko, Marcia Haydée, August Bournonville, Alexei Ratmansky, Stijn Celis, Patrice Bart, and Victor Ullate. This is Eoin’s first season with Ballet of Difference am Schauspiel Köln.

Born in Maryland, Ian J. Sanford began his formal training at The Baltimore School for the Arts at the age of sixteen. In June of 2021, Ian graduated with a BFA in Dance from The Juilliard School in New York City. While a student at Juilliard, Ian was presented with the Noble Foundation Scholarship and the Benjamin Harkarvy Scholarship in Dance. Over the course of his training, Ian has performed works by George Balanchine, José Limón, Bryan Arias, Martha Graham, Cayetano Soto, Didy Veldman, Crystal Pite, Marco Goecke, Paul Lightfoot, Sol León, Dimo Milev, Andrea Miller, Mats Ek, and Lukas Tumilak. Ian joined Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln in August 2021.

FLORA MIRANDA – FASHION DESIGN
Flora Miranda ist eine österreichische Modedesignerin mit Sitz in Antwerpen, Belgien. Sie erhielt ihren Master-Abschluss 2014 an der renommierten Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerpen und gilt in der Kulturszene als aufstrebender Star. Der Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit liegt auf dem Menschen, seinen Sinnen und seiner Wahrnehmung. In ihren Designs versucht Miranda Einschränkungen und praktischen Überlegungen der Mode aufzulösen. Mit intellektuellen Konzepten und intuitiver Produktion hinterfragt sie die veraltete Idee der High Couture und erforscht Techniken, die von der Designtradition oder -geschichte losgelöst sind. Die Welt der Flora Miranda ist außerirdisch, extravagant, extrem und exklusiv!
TOBIAS STAAB – DRAMATURGIE
Tobias Staab, geboren 1981 in Stuttgart, studierte Theaterwissenschaft, Philosophie und Neuere Deutsche Literatur an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München und lehrte im Anschluss am Institut für Theaterwissenschaft. Zudem arbeitete er am theaterwissenschaftlichen Forschungszentrum Sound and Movement (SaM) für Gegenwartstheater und Neue Medien. Parallel dazu trat er als Konzertveranstalter, DJ und Musikjournalist in Erscheinung. Mit Ritournelle etablierte er 2012 ein Festival für avancierte elektronische Pop-Musik in den Münchner Kammerspielen und begann dort seine Arbeit als Dramaturg. Von 2015 bis 2017 arbeitete er als Kurator und Dramaturg für die Ruhrtriennale unter Leitung von Johan Simons. Er arbeitete u. a. mit den Regisseuren Johan Simons, René Pollesch und Julian Rosefeldt zusammen. Außerdem lancierte er unterschiedliche Programme und Festivals in den Bereichen Musik sowie performative und installative Künste (MELT FESTIVAL, NOISE SIGNAL SILENCE, PANTA RHEI FESTIVAL, BAUHAUS FESTIVAL 2019). Er war 2016 Mitgründer des Ballet of Difference. Seit der Spielzeit 2018/2019 ist er Dramaturg am Schauspielhaus Bochum, wo er auch das Programm des Oval Office sowie die Reihe Konzerte im Schauspielhaus kuratiert. O, AUGENBLICK in der Spielzeit 2018/2019 ist seine erste Inszenierung am Schauspielhaus Bochum. Tobias Staab arbeitet als freier Dramaturg für das Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference am Schauspiel Köln.

Ana Presta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she began her dance career at the Colón Theater and later moved on to the stage of Milan to work with Rudolf Nureyev and Natalia Makarova. Ana then joined the Roma Opera Teatro Verdi Triste and toured with several different ballet companies. At the Israel Ballet in Tel Aviv, under the direction of Berta Japolsky, Ana danced for 3 years as a soloist, performing a wide range of the George Balanchine repertoire. Her curiosity and desire to expand her repertoire then led her back to Europe to work with Victor Ullate in Madrid and later the Oper Lyon where she performed works by Angelin Preljocaj, Maguy Marín, Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek and William Forsythe, with whom she continues to collaborate with by distributing his repertoire and improvisational techniques to young dancers. Ana spent the last ten years of her soloist career at the Semperoper Ballet Dresden under the direction of Aaron Watkin, concluding happily: “they were my best career years”. As an assistant choreographer and maître de ballet Ana has worked with the Frankfurt Dresden Dance Company under Jacopo Godani, Augsburg Ballet, Gothenburg Ballett, Semperoper Ballett and Oldenburg Ballet. As an assistant director, Ana was engaged at Teater Ulm for five years. Ana joined Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference am Schauspiel Köln as the Ballet Mistress at the beginning of the season 21/22.

Anschließend schloss sich Ana dem Teatro Verdi Triste der Oper von Rom an und ging mit verschiedenen Ballettkompanien auf Tournee. Beim Israel Ballet in Tel Aviv war Ana unter der Leitung von Berta Japolsky drei Jahre lang als Solistin beschäftigt und tanzte eine breite Palette des George-Balanchine-Repertoires. Ihre Neugier und der Wunsch, ihr Repertoire zu erweitern, führten sie zurück nach Europa, wo sie mit Victor Ullate in Madrid und später an der Oper von Lyon arbeitete und Werke von Angelin Preljocaj, Maguy Marín, Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek und William Forsythe aufführte. Mit Letzterem besteht eine Kollaboration in der Weitergabe und Vermittlung seines Repertoires und seiner Improvisationstechniken an junge Tänzer*innen bis heute fort.
Die letzten zehn Jahre ihrer Solistenkarriere verbrachte Ana beim Semperoper Ballett in Dresden unter der Leitung von Aaron Watkin und stellte zufrieden fest: "Das waren meine besten Karrierejahre". Als Choreografische Assistentin und Maître de ballet arbeitete Ana mit der Frankfurt Dresden Dance Company unter Jacopo Godani, dem Augsburger Ballett, dem Göteborg Ballett, dem Semperoper Ballett und dem Ballett des Oldenburgischen Staatstheaters zusammen. Als Regieassistentin war Ana fünf Jahre lang am Theater Ulm engagiert. Mit Beginn der Spielzeit 21/22 ist Ana Ballettmeisterin der Kompanie Richard Siegal / Ballett der Differenz am Schauspiel Köln.
